Le Pavillon Royal is the only campground on the Basque Coast with direct access to a fine-sand beach. From each campsite, a few minutes of walking is all it takes for you to reach the seaside, and find yourself before the beauty and immensity of the ocean.

The beach of Le Pavillon Royal which owes its name to the château that can be seen there. Wild and untamed, it is one of the largest beaches in Bidart. It is also a paradise of discovery for children, thanks to a part of it that is covered with rocks: nets and buckets are essential!

This immediate proximity to the beach allows you to enjoy the benefits of the sea air all day long. The gentle climate, smell of the ocean and music of the waves, delight and set the tone for the daily life of the campers, come to seek sun, calm and the sweet life on the Basque Coast. This exceptional location will give every one of you the feeling that the beach and the ocean belong to you.

Lovers of walking and breath-taking marine landscapes will be able to reach Bidart or Biarritz on foot, along the seafront. This means you can set out to discover these two cities, each located around 4 kilometres from the campground, while enjoying a lovely walk on the fine sand, and without having to use a vehicle.

This direct access to the beach also allows you to discover surfing, a very popular sport on the Basque Coast. The Pavillon beach is quite simply one of the best surfing spots on the Basque Coast. A specialised school,  Lagoondy Surf Camp , set up right near the campground, offers classes and gear hire.

The beach of Le Pavillon Royal is supervised by beach guards for the high season, so that everyone can peacefully enjoy their time by the sea.
